Waikato's LTCCP hearings begin

Residents will have the opportunity to discuss issues from the draft Long Term Council Community Plan 2009 – 2019 (LTCCP) when hearings begin on 18 May 2009.

Two hundred and sixty one submissions were received during the public consultation phase, which ran from 20 March to 20 April 2009.

The LTCCP outlines key issues, projects and budgets for the Waikato district over the next 10 years, and is the culmination of a lot of work with local communities.

“Key issues identified in the submissions include extending the operating season for the Genesis Energy Huntly Aquatic Centre, tarsealing roads, and facilitating pensioner housing in Raglan,” Waikato District Council Chief Executive Officer Gavin Ion said today.

Dates for Hearings are: Council Office, 15 Galileo Street, Ngaruawahia, Monday 18 May, 9.00am – 4.00pm; Tuesday 19 May, 1.00pm – 8.00pm; Wednesday 20 May, 9.00am – 12noon. Supper Room, Town Hall, Main Street, Raglan, Wednesday 20 May, 1.30pm – 4.30pm. Council Office, 15 Galileo Street, Ngaruawahia, Thursday 21 May and Friday 22 May, if necessary.
