Residents have their say in Council's annual survey

As part of its on-going commitment to actively seek public feedback and involvement, the Waikato District Council is conducting their annual resident satisfaction survey.

Waikato District Council Chief Executive, Gavin Ion, said Council has a responsibility to track how well their efforts are carrying through to their residents.

“Annually we conduct a survey to help us measure our effectiveness in representing the wishes and viewpoints of our residents. Understanding our ratepayers’ opinions and needs will allow Council to be more responsive,” he said.

The National Research Bureau, an independent market research company offering specialised services to Local Authorities throughout New Zealand, has been commissioned to undertake the survey for Council.

People living in all 11 Wards of the Waikato District will be telephoned, using a randomised selection method, and asked their opinions on a wide-ranging list of issues pertaining to the Council, and the services it delivers to the residents of the district.

Interviewing for the survey begins on Friday 18 September, and will be completed by Sunday 27 September.

A hard copy version of the questionnaire may be requested by telephoning Council.
