Kopua Bridge Design decision made (Wednesday, 23 December 2009)

The preferred option for the Kopua footbridge in Raglan was decided yesterday.

Waikato District Councillor, Clint Baddeley said the design reflected the wishes of the people of Raglan.

Waikato District Council today made a submission to the Local Government Commission outlining transitional and representation issues for Auckland’s southern boundary.

Local Papamoa beach man Frank Way, is attempting something no one has attempted before, that is to river sled the entire length of the Waikato River, to raise money for prostate cancer.
 

Twenty three people won prizes in the Ngaruawahia Best Garden Competition for 2009.  With a record number of first time entrants, competition was strong within the seven garden categories.

The winners of the Huntly Best Garden Competition for 2009 were announced at a special prizegiving at the Huntly Civic Centre.

Clean Up Week A Success (Tuesday, 15 September 2009)

Two thousand and nine people rolled up their sleeves, and gave the Waikato district a spruce up during Keep New Zealand Beautiful Week. 

Waikato District Council Chief Executive, Gavin Ion, said Council received an overwhelming response this year, with 13 schools, and 12 clubs and families participating in the event - twice as many people as last year.
 

As part of its on-going commitment to actively seek public feedback and involvement, the Waikato District Council is conducting their annual resident satisfaction survey.

Huntly residents are urged to disregard the flyer promoting a mid winter inorganic rubbish collection, as Waikato District Council investigates who is behind the flyer. 

The annual Keep New Zealand Beautiful Clean Up Week will again take place in September this year.

Still time to register dogs (Wednesday, 15 July 2009)

Three thousand dogs remain unregistered in the Waikato District despite owners only have 16 days to go before penalties or fines are incurred.

Huntly Water Supply - ALL CLEAR (Friday, 3 July 2009)

The water has now been given the all clear by the Ministry of Health and you are now able to continue drinking it as normal.

Fault identified but keep boiling water (Wednesday, 1 July 2009)

Issues at the Huntly water treatment plant have now been resolved but residents are urged to continue boiling their drinking water until further notice.

Huntly residents are urged to boil their drinking water for one minute for the next three days while Waikato District Council works to overcome an issue with the water supply.

Council approves LTCCP 2009 - 2019 (Friday, 26 June 2009)

Waikato District Council has approved its 10 year Long Term Council Community Plan (LTCCP), which includes a 4.99% general rate rise for the coming year.
