Huntly residents are urged to disregard the flyer promoting a mid winter inorganic rubbish collection, as Waikato District Council investigates who is behind the flyer.
A flyer fraudulently using Waikato District Council’s logo was distributed into Huntly letterboxes over the weekend.
Waikato District Council Chief Executive, Gavin Ion, said the inorganic collection was not a Council initiative, and he was extremely concerned that residents had been mislead into thinking it was.
“The Council does not endorse this inorganic collection. We therefore ask residents to please remove their rubbish from the kerbside as soon as possible. Council will not be collecting the inorganic rubbish,” he said.
Waikato District Council’s annual inorganic collection is held during November. Huntly residents will be notified prior to the collection by a leaflet providing collection dates and details.
