The Waikato District Council has five libraries, with free membership offered to all Waikato District ratepayers and residents. Waikato District Council has reciprocal membership rights, where residents of other districts can join Waikato District Libraries free of charge (see library membership for more details).
Waikato District Libraries offer many free services and resources, such as borrowing books, magazines, videos, internet access, and a summer reading programme for primary school children and Toddler Time (at Huntly and Ngaruawahia) for preschool children. The libraries also offer services such as photocopying, faxing, and laminating for a small charge.
The five Waikato District Libraries are located in:
- Huntly
- Meremere
- Ngaruawahia
- Raglan
- Te Kauwhata
