Te Kauwhata Structure Plan
On 26 September 2009 the Council notified Te Kauwhata Structure Plan as Variation 13 of the Proposed Waikato District Plan. The Structure Plan will provide a framework for future growth in Te Kauwhata by managing development and land use patterns, areas of open space, layout and nature of infrastructure (including roads), and other key features. Sufficient land has been identified to supply demand to 2061.
Associated with the Variation is a Notice of Requirement for Designation of a road.
See Variation 13 and the Notice of Requirement here. Submissions closed on 23 October 2009.
Raglan Structure Plan
In December 2008 the Council released a discussion document and invited feedback on it as the first phase in the process of developing a structure plan for Raglan.
Council received over 80 responses from the greater Raglan/Whaingaroa community and from further afield, providing comment on matters to help develop the structure plan.
All the responses received were summarized, and form an integral part of the Issues and Options Report, the second phase in the structure plan process, released in July 2009.
The way forward...
Council received feedback on the Issues and Options Report (IOR) during August 2009. The number of responses, again from more than 80 people, cannot be considered a complete representation of the entire Raglan/Whaingaroa population (which is approximately 3,500 before peak season), but nevertheless the feedback received from the community on both the Discussion Document and the IOR has been decisive and will play an integral part in the development of this structure plan.
The feedback from the IOR is shown in short reports on the ten key issues that the community has determined are facing Raglan. These are followed by the community’s commentary on the Options it seeks to adopt to implement the third phase of the structure plan, which will be notified in June 2010.
Links to the Issues and Options feedback can be accessed here:
During the development of the third phase of the structure plan, presentations by Council staff on the way forward will be held in Raglan to help the community gain a better understanding of the future direction for Raglan/Whaingaroa and to make clear what the future Raglan/Whaingaroa holds for them.
Waikato District Council thanks all those who participated in providing Council with feedback on both the Discussion Document and the IOR, and looks forward to developing and implementing the final phase of the Raglan Structure Plan.
